Catechism Class

 

 

·        Please contact Fr. Steven Salaris to coordinate Catechism Classes in Orthodox Christianity.  We currently use the four volume series “The Orthodox Faith” written by Fr. Thomas Hopko.

Children’s Christian Education

(classes begin Sept. 8, 2013)

 

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

(Proverbs 22:6)

 

 

 

Pre-K / K

Lower & Upper Elementary (Grades 1 - 6)

Teens (Grades 7-12)

 

(Christian Education classes meet from 11:15 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.)

 

 

 

Pre-K & K

·         Veggie Tales

o   Watch Veggie Tales videos and

            learn the Christian messages

o   Introduction to basic prayers of the Church and the Nicene Creed

o   Teacher: Presbytera Sheryl Salaris

 

 

 

Elementary (Grades 1-6)

 

·         Elementary will take the Little House on the Prairie approach and have the elementary grades combined in one class.

·         Classes will focus on Bible stories 

·         Teachers:  Norma Wakefield & Georgia Carron

 

 

 

Teens (grades 7-12)

·         Study of the Gospel of Luke

·         Open discussion on Orthodox morality, etc. combined with preparation for participation in the Bible Bowl at the Parish Life Conference  (Summer 2014)

·         Teacher:  Eric Shanburn

 

 

 

Adult Christian Education

 

Adult Christian Education classes will meet on Wednesdays

immediately after the 7:00 p.m. Daily Vespers service (approx. 7:30 p.m.).

 

These classes are open to any and all adults whether

they are Orthodox or not – inquirers are welcomed!
